Coming to university can be a daunting time and especially as a Christian. I was worried about finding a church in Southampton to call my spiritual home. On my first Sunday in Southampton, I came to Spring Road and received a very warm welcome from the family of believers there.
I have been coming here ever since and have been blessed, encouraged and challenged by the faithful teaching from the word of God every week. I have also enjoyed much fellowship with other believers over Sunday lunch and various other events such as Bible studies and young people’s meetups.
Being a Christian at university can be challenging but I am thankful for the support and encouragement I’ve received from the church.

Spring Road has been an excellent source of fellowship and community for the three years I’ve been in attendance. It’s a great blessing to have access to a church that’s solidly built on Christ, especially when for the rest of the week I’m bombarded by the world.
As a university student in a high stress course, I think it’s very important to have a community you can rely on when things get tough. Everyone at Spring Road is very close, and despite my social awkwardness I integrated in very nicely. I’m currently on an industry placement, but will definitely be returning next year.

From my first week at Spring Road, I felt welcome. Whether it was people introducing themselves and making an effort to talk to me, or offering to have me for lunch, it was clear that the church really wants to invite people to hear the Gospel. Both services gave clear and sound teaching, and the afternoon Bible studies were a great opportunity to discuss with other young people and ask questions.
Looking back I have found the church to be of great spiritual benefit and am thankful to have had the opportunity to fellowship with the members at Spring Road.
